A unique collection of paintings from Madeleine Agnew

The interior styling at Holmleigh Manor is the perfect backdrop for a carefully curated collection by Madeleine Agnew. From Art Deco inspired portraiture to quirky animals in clothes, the exhibition showcases the artist’s diverse range of styles and techniques.

“This is the perfect way for people to see my artwork. Sometimes people find it hard to visualise what a painting might look like in their home, especially when it’s seen in a gallery, so displaying the art in an environment like Holmleigh Manor provides context, brings the paintings to life, and hopefully sparks ideas and inspiration as well.”

“I like to bridge the gap between art and interior design. I believe art should be sympathetic to it’s surroundings and I relish the opportunity to produce paintings that I know will become a feature within a chosen space.  This is what I have tried to achieve with the exhibition at Holmleigh Manor, drawing inspiration from period features and art deco themes, with its own distinct, playful personality.”

There will be paintings on display in three of the reception rooms as well as in the entrance hall. In addition, Madeleine will be exhibiting some examples of the bespoke furniture and soft furnishings that use fabrics featuring custom designs derived directly from the paintings.

The event will be in conjunction with Holmfirth Artweek, which is renowned as one of the UKs largest open art exhibitions. 20% of all sales will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, and the Artweek Fund – which awards grants to local art projects, in association with One Community.
